Hello, and a warm welcome to the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) supporting the children and staff at Woodcote High School. Did you know you are automatically a WHS PTFA member because you have a child at Woodcote High School?
If you can give some time to attend our committee meetings, normally once every half term or so, or can help at events, this will make a BIG difference. We desperately need more parents to attend and welcome new ideas and initiatives on ways we can raise money to provide valuable resources for the school and our children. It’s a great way to become more involved and to meet other like-minded parents. The social aspects of being an active member of the PTFA are also appealing and you can take on as big or as small a role as you wish - there is no pressure! We promise you won’t be press-ganged into organising any major events, but you may enjoy being part of a smaller team who all chip in to get things done. Don’t be shy, we’re a friendly bunch who just want to try and make WHS an even better school that it already is.
Through the activities of the PTFA, many thousands of pounds have already been raised, which has been used to fund many initiatives in and around the School such as library software, projectors, sports kits, furniture for the new 6th form block, the Snack Shack and even a snow plough! We encourage community involvement whenever possible and so look to partner with local businesses and media in Coulsdon, Woodcote and Purley thus raising the profile of the school.
We have a number of events suitable for all the family planned in the year ahead so please keep checking back for updates and if you are unable to volunteer to help please do attend the events which is just as important to our fundraising efforts!
